This Oakton, Virginia family had a decision. Their home of almost fifteen years was no longer working for them. The kitchen was cramped, and there was no landing area for their children to drop backpacks, school papers, and all the fun paraphernalia that comes with being a teenager. Moving was considered, but their perfect location in relation to both their jobs, the outstanding schools, and the community in their neighborhood led them to think outside the box.
With the skill of contractor Steve Porter of Dominion Associates, Inc. and the exceptional design of NVS Kitchen and Bath’s Susan Wells, the first level of the home was re-imagined. The dining room was moved to the back of the house, making way for a stylish and functional mudroom. The kitchen was expanded and now features NVS’s Dura Supreme cabinetry and an eat-in island large enough for the entire family. The luxe Calacatta Verona Quartz adds elegance while the contrasting Black Walnut Cafe Countertops brings warmth to this beautiful Northern Virginia kitchen.
